Release and track languages

Modified on Fri, 26 Apr at 8:14 PM

Language availability varies from DSP to DSP and so does the way each DSP deals with it. For example, some channels only use language information for internal search engine settings and do not specify other uses in their specs.

Language distribution in a release

Language of the release

The language setting in the "1. Release Info" tab determines the spelling language to be used for all titles and other textual metadata entered in the release form. For instance, if the titles of the release and tracks are in English, this is the language that will be used at release level.

Language of the lyrics

In the "3. Track Info" tab, the language setting specifies the language used in the lyrics of the track. If the track does not contain any lyrics, please indicate this by selecting the "instrumental" option.

Available languages

We are constantly in contact with channels to update the language availability based on their requirements. If you are unable to find a specific language, it is highly likely that it is not yet supported. However, please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.

You can view the list of currently available languages when creating a release (1. Release info) from the dropdown menu labeled "Language".  Additionally, at track level, you can find the list of available languages on the dropdown menu labeled "Language of the lyrics".
